Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray

All I do is put my hair in a dutch braid at night (the inverse of a french braid) and in the morning at some point spray liberal amounts of this all over, and dry with a diffuser!

Keeps frizz out, and helps the waves stay in. Thank you, Whitney, for the recommendation!

Beauty review:

Hey guys!

So, if you’re like me— you can get stuck in a hair rut. I’m a mother of two which means I barely have the time to do anything super exciting to my hair. Curling what little hair I have can even take too much time!

I bought this Not Your Mothers: Beach Babe Texturizing Spray a while ago. I’ll admit, the first thing that made me look at it was the packaging. It’s pretty cute. Then I remembered reading about all kinds of beach sprays and I had been wanting to try one! This one was great! It was under $10 and I was just trying it, so if I didn’t love it, no worries.

When I first tried it, I was pretty unimpressed. I tried it on wet hair. You can try it on wet or dry. If you hair holds things super easy, wet may work for you. I cannot do the curly effect with mousse in mine. I have wavy-ish hair, but no curl. If you have natural body to your hair, wet will probably work for you too.

Anyway- I tried it a couple of days ago dry. I was generous with the misting, and then I just kind of played with texture until I liked how it looked. I like the unkept, beachy, messy hair. The result was the pictures below! In my new dress, etc.

It smells super good and I was really impressed with how it turned out. The best part? My hair was not knotted the next day! Nothing.

If you don’t have time to straighten or curl, or like me, you prefer to keep heat off your hair, I would definitely try it! It’s a nice easy break! I think I got mine at Wal Mart! I haven’t seen the Not Your Mothers brand anywhere else, so someone correct me if I’m wrong!

Anyway! Be inspired to try something new! Maybe it’ll make you feel like you just came from the beach! ;)

Xox,

Alison

Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Spray!

It’s supposed to give you those beach hair waves!

Well, I must say it does pretty well! I love it, and the smell is amazing! I love anything that reminds me of the beach and this does. It has that coconut beachy smell! You can use this when scrunching your hair or curling it with a wand. Spray it in your hair after you finished and work It in and it gives the illusion and texture of those luscious beach waves! I love this stuff! I cant wait to try out some other products from their line.

I received this product complementary from Influenster. My hair naturally has a light wave to it, and this product really helps bring out those waves. It smells great, like coconut. It might my hair have a really nice wave to it, without clumping my hair together, weighing it down, or causing it…

I think I told y’all that Influenster.com sends me “Voxboxes” every few months. They are boxes filled with free products for me to test and review. I usually get awesome stuff too, so it’s worth it to go to the website and sign up for free.

This time they sent me a bottle of Not Your Mother’s volumizing hair spray and I’ve been using it for the past week. Although I already have thick hair, my roots look flat sometimes. This stuff smells great and it actually works very well.

I liked this product so much that I went straight to Target and bought their Texturizing Sea Salt Spray too. I usually buy Bumble & Bumble’s Surf Spray, but that stuff is $25 for 4 oz. Not Your Mother’s is only six bucks for a full size (8 oz.), and it works just as well. I could also probably just go to the ocean and fill up a spray bottle, but there are probably traces of urine and feces in it. I guess I’ll just stick to buying Not Your Mother’s.

Can I say perfection in a bottle? Absolutely fell in love with NYM Beach Babe sea salt spray! Let’s put it this way, I have long straight hair, live in a hot and humid place, hot irons are not going to cut it for me.

I have honestly never tried a product like this and I wasn’t really…
